Catamaran for Sale!

Well this is weird.  But yeah, the catamaran is for sale.

10 Years of Sailboats

We bought LS1 in the summer of 2013. I can’t believe it has been that long. And also it has flown by.

With over 10,000 nautical miles on the monohull – and now over 5000 nm on the catamaran, it’s time to for us to snuggle back into land life.

I’m SO glad we had a couple of months in the Bahamas on her as we made our way back from the Caribbean 💙

Plans Take a Turn

We didn’t actually plan to be back in Savannah working…  Leaving the Caribbean in January 2023 had us aiming for a long stay in the Bahamas, followed by a summer in Maine.  We haven’t seen much of the east coast (North of Charleston) of the US by boat – and man, this boat is perfect for it!

Leopard Catamaran for Sale 2010 384 scuba
We did SO much diving from our girl over the last year or so

But Mark got an offer he couldn’t refuse – his old job.  So here we are, surrounded by friends and family and thoroughly enjoying being back on land after 7 years of sailing adventures. (We bought a house in June.  This is NOT the market for buying a house, but whatta ya do?)

With Mark loving work – and me loving having an art studio again, well.  We just aren’t using the boat much.  And she needs to be used.  She is set up perfectly for off-grid life.  This Cat is ready for action! (Update Con’t below – but first the listing!)

We’ve owned this 2010 Leopard 384 catamaran since 10/2020.  She was professionally set up for off-grid life and is ready to get back to adventures! (While we get back to land/work life.) She was dismasted in BVI 2017.  She was then re-rigged/repaired by the Moorings.  We have safely put over 5000 nm on her in the Tradewinds of the Eastern Caribbean – and she’s still going strong!

To Do List:

While we did all of the major projects we planned to do – solar, lithium batteries, high output water maker,  cabin conversion for storage/work space, etc etc etc; we obviously have other things we’d like to do to her. If you buy her, well, I’m sure you’ll have your own list.  We just want the new owners to be aware of the things we feel could be upgraded.

  • In the eastern Caribbean we had trouble finding some of the things we wanted for cosmetic upgrades.  I’d love to replace the flooring in the salon, for example.  Should be a pretty simple, straightforward project – but, well, we couldn’t find the right products in the islands.
  • She’s due for a bottom job.  We are keeping her bottom clean, but yeah – she could use a new coat of paint.
  • We have 2 shiny new props for her – they just need to be installed…
  • Port Lower rudder Bearing has some play (all parts are onboard and awaiting next haul out)

And there’s always something, right?  But for the most part – she’s all good.
